Player Rankings

[Post New]by Sukretz on Jan 10, 18 7:47 PM
I have been playing for awhile now, and have a question about player rankings that show up after you complete an HOS. The top six players among your friends are listed, in descending order by score. I have 33 friends, yet I have always been somewhere in the top six. It seems to me that at some point I would not have been in the top six, particularly on some scenes that give me trouble. But no matter how low my score, I still always show up somewhere in the top six. I know there isn't any benefit attached to the rankings. In fact, I don't see the purpose of listing them, but it just makes me wonder if among my 33 friends, (34 of us including me), at least 28 always score lower than I do.

You always see yourself, and those who are top.
If your number is 5 or less, then you truly have a higher score.
Hope this makes sense.
(I think the whole thing is silly, but it matters to some.)

I have asked the same question along with many others. All the answers just help me to ignore them.

Thanks. I suspected that the game was designed to ensure the player always showed up on the list, but I didn't realize that the five and above slots are actual rankings. Now my sixes make a lot more sense. And of course, the only time it mattered was when we were playing tournaments. It just caught my attention because it didn't seem possible.

Speaking of Rankings .....

CONGRATULATIONS TO NAPOEON FOR ONCE AGAIN TOPPING THE SPECIAL ROOM LEADER BOARD!!!!!

Her scores are quite impressive:
Fireplace ...... 296,540
Tree ............. 296,550
Table ............ 296,640

Those are PC scores ..... If anyone has a leader with a higher score, I would be amazed!

On iOS the top room scores in my game are:
Fireplace......... 295,500
Tree ............... 296,090
Table .............. 296,200

No single person has the high score, so I will not post any names....... besides, I don't know if the "king or queen of speed" is a friend on my iPad game.

And, as always, my score is an abysmal 6th place ..... so low by comparison that it would be embarrassing to post it, so I shall not.

Sharp Eye has 269,900 for Fireplace and Festive table (and probably Tree but won't know until the new day) but as has been previously posted this is a perfect score and impossible without a game/internet problem.

Think you may have transposed a couple of numbers .... did you mean 296,900?

Indeed, Sharp Eye has posted that she is having Internet issues...... so, that score probably doesn't count.

Yes... Sharp Eye has the perfect score of 296,900 on all Christmas room HOS's topping Alex.

You all are correct! It doesn't count because it happened late last night during a glitch. I was playing the regular HOS and noticed all scores on the leader board were gone, except mine. Then I went to the Xmas Room 2 to play those HOS and when I did the fireplace I saw my score come up as 296,900! Naturally, I was shocked because I'm not that fast and couldn't figure out how I did it. So, I went to the next (Tree) HOS and the same thing happened! It was then that I noticed the time counter was not counting down. It stayed at zero! So, I tried the table next and the same thing happened! So, I closed my game and the weird thing is, even though I was able to play those HOS, my computer showed I had lost my internet connection! I shut down the laptop, then went in again. Internet was back up, I opened my game and the scores and items won still registered! Very strange!!

It happens from time to time. The only way to keep your score from getting the "perfect score" is to close out of the HOS then the game and reenter the minute you notice the timer not counting.

That said, I don't know of too many players that notice whether or not the timer is counting down. I certainly don't pay attention as I'm too busy collecting items the minute I enter the HOS. In other words, if the timer stopped on my game I'd be getting the perfect score too because I would not notice and close out.

And you do get awesome scores, SilverHawk! The best I've done is 294,280, I think. As nice as it looks being at the top for the first time ever, it's not correct so I wish I could fix it somehow!

I am really sorry to hear about the scoring glitch. I remember how nasty things got in the forum the first time this problem occurred.

Yeah, me too! And, I certainly don't wish to claim credit for something I didn't earn or do on purpose.

I was truly amazed, too, at how nasty people were to other players who had experienced the glitch giving them top scores. It bothered me so much that when I eventually got the glitch, I continued to play with it. But back in those days, there were quite a lot of nasty people. It was so bad at one point that I quit even coming to the forums. It was just too depressing.

I am so very happy that the forum atmosphere has changed to become so encouraging & uplifting. It often brightens my day to come here & read the new posts.

I also should mention that my game that had the "perfect" scores hasn't been active for quite awhile. I had quit playing, and when I came back, I had a new computer, so I started a new game. I didn't realize I could transfer my game until after my new game had gotten higher than my old one.

There were so many people with that old glitch that the devs zeroed out everyone's score and we all started from scratch....

I recently had another friend have a score glitch where all the scores on every HO is the same, not the perfect score, but close enough, I thought it was.... I hope it doesn't become a "thing" again!!!!!!!

And the clock-stopping glitch happened during the tournaments and some players figured out how to deliberately make it happen (and that gave them a winning score without spinning the wheel!) and eventually the tournaments had to be shut down (for the first time).

Oh, my goodness! I can't imagine taking advantage like that! I also wouldn't want to deliberately cause a glitch....not that I'd know how anyway as I am very UN-tech savvy. But, honesty and integrity pay off in the end and anything else, well......karma?

ETA: Do you think CS could get my scores reset to say my average lately if I put in a ticket explaining the issue? Is that something that is doable? I wouldn't want to start a new game and then do a transfer as I have been at Level 82 for quite a long time and have most all achievements done, along with tons of inventory and coins/diamonds.

Hmmmm.... I don't think they can reset the score in just one HOS of one person...... perhaps reset all of YOUR scores in all of your scenes is doable....

But, I'm guessing that they would end up resetting the scores for all players in all scenes and some players would be pretty upset at the thought of "starting over."

Oh, well. It was a thought. On the bright side, since it occurred in the Xmas HOS, they will soon be gone!
