My game will not download. Am using Opera browser, never had any problems before.

I had no problem downloading, or opening, but after I put my name in and then went to choose gameplay mode, my mouse won't go below a certain point. It stops about 3/4 of the way down the screen, so I can't click on "OK", so therefore can't play the game. I can click anywhere else on the screen and it works, just when I try to go below, the cursor stops. It is weird!

I am having same issue of can't download this game either. I am not sure of what is going on but this is the first time I have had this problem. I am on my laptop windows 7 pc. I went to my purchase history to download the game and nothing. I went into the email that was sent to me after I bought the game to download it from there and still nothing. Then when I went to the Big Fish App to go to my purchase history there, wow! a Error Code 1404 came up. So I went to where all the Error Codes would be at and looked up the 1404 code. It said for me to sign out of the App and sign back in as i did. Well to say it still will not let me go to my Purchase History threw the App. So I then Uninstalled/Reinstalled the BF App to see if this could be the problem well again to say I still can't get this game to download. I went threw to different Browsers as one is Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. As I tried threw both I still could not get this game to download still. So I wanted to try something out, I went to where you can play this game as a Trial first before you buy to see if it downloaded from there. Well the game did download for me but it stayed as a Trial Version game. I did not play this trial first before I bought cause you all sent me the game as a Beta Trial and I didn't have any problems with the game at all. So this is why I purchased the game first. So as I tried everything that I can think of about getting the game to run hope you all can come up with something. Oh, I have all my Updates at my end that is all good, so don't need them. So Please help me. I really want to play this game as I like spooky games like this one. I hope you read all that I have done so you don't come back to me and say the same thing that I already did.

Wolfpup, after you have downloaded the trial version, try clicking the buy button that shows up in the Game Manager - it should then tell you that you have already purchased the game and will ask you if you want to activate it, say yes, and then the rest of your game should download. I hope this helps.

I reached the room where Joe is in the chair with the book, read the book and did the HOS. Then poof my screen locked up. Can't use the witch charm. I can go anywhere, use the map, and the hint. But can't continue. Really bummed. I don't want to have to start over!

Howatch, Thank you very much for telling me about how to get the game up. I did what you said and it worked for me. I am so glad cause i have been waiting for this game to come out cause i knew it was going to be a great game to buy and play. But am I going to still have problems with other games not downloading too? Why I asked cause I went to even go to one of my old games that i bought to see what happens and it did the same thing. That game would not download either. Not sure of what went wrong cause it was fine the other day. Well I guess on Saturday's game I will have to download the trial and then buy it. Well thank you again and have a good day.

Wolfpup, I am glad that worked for you and that you will be able to play the game. As for the 1404 error message, you will have to write to Customer Support about it. I too had the same problem in the past so I understood what you were describing. The method I described should work for any games you have in your Purchase History that have a demo - just download the demo of the game and then run through the steps that I provided. That will give you a workaround for the problem until you hear back from Customer Support.

Wolfpupscvc, I'm sorry to hear that there was trouble getting the game to install and play as expected and thank you for providing that detailed report. It sounds like Howatch was able to provide a helpful suggestion and that it was able to get the game running again. I'm concerned that there were other games possibly experiencing a similar issue and want to recommend getting in touch with our Technical Support Team with a description of what you are experiencing with these other games, such as the error code 1404, as well as any steps you've already tried to resolve the issue. glasslady918, I'm sorry to hear the game doesn't appear to be downloading. What I recommend is seeing if the following page of steps can assist:

Lordshandmaiden, it sounds like the game isn't allowing you to move your cursor below a certain point while playing. We definitely want players to be able to enjoy their purchased games, and what I recommend in this particular case is to see if the steps in the following article can assist:

In this specific case, Step Four: Adjust your graphics settings, could assist when a cursor doesn't seem to want to move to the edges of the screen despite the screen being displayed properly. I also have reached a point where the screen is black and am no longer able to continue. this is right after I reached joe and the main character covered him in a sheet

I am also having the same issue Joe in the chair I have the book but everything just stops cant do anything at all. Using windows 10

In the bonus game, the rune box goes away when
you need to use it to find the runes. Felt like team had problems getting the story finished for Halloween and it was rushed out without fully vetting.

Marnie, the rune box disappeared with me. Come out of the game totally, then start the game again, but don't click the mouse over a symbol, find the seven, and the whole of the runes will light up.

I’m loving this game, but once again the cursor gets covered by a system arrow. I clicked off custom cursor, then put it on again. It worked for a short while, then got covered by the system cursor again.

Also game very jerky and a couple times I thought game had frozen, but after waiting 5 minutes it sprung back to life.

I’m on a MacBook Pro MacOS High Sierra. Got graphics switching off and all up to date. Not sure about buying it with all these glitches.

Also, once again playing custom mode, turned sparkles/glints off yet still getting them. Only happens with Elephant Games. In the past I’ve fixed this by turning HOP glints off too, but no option to do that in this game’s custom mode.

Hope someone can help me sort the issues so I can buy and play entire game.

I am having the same issue as some others. After I cover Joe, the screen becomes black and never loads the next screen. By quitting and restarting the game, I get the new room to show up but no interaction with anything is available. I did update my graphics driver. If I run in administrator mode, I have to restart the game and I'm prefer not to. I've tried a few other things on your Trouble shoot page but so far, nothing has worked.

Hello Everyone,

I'm sorry the games aren't working properly and am here to provide some troubleshooting support.

When games won't open or the screen goes black, it's possible a display error is occurring. First I'd recommend checking the computer's video card driver to see if it's up to date. This driver directs the computer's graphics, and installing one of the updates its developers release can really help fix display errors. I'd also recommend running the game in Administrator Mode to ensure it has the necessary permissions to access resources it needs.

The following help pages will walk you through those processes:

Run Game as Administrator

If the game's customer cursor has been causing trouble, I'd suggest turning it off. The option to do this can usually be located in the game's Options menu; the Options menu usually appears in the game's home screen.

I am using Windows 10 as my operating system. I have issues with the fact that when I played it, it stopped and said "thanks for playing the demo". When I tried to buy it I get a message saying that an error occurred. Any suggestions?
