CURSE OF PHARAOH

[Post New]by EdnaMoles on Mar 9, 08 9:35 AM
I just dowloaded demo, played for a while and then purchased. I really like the game. A mix of Mortimer Beckett and HO. Hope someone else tries it.

My description was something along the lines of "find the difference meets HO at Spooky Manor." Scotcat and I both downloaded. Have not gotten very far yet because I was busy. Didn't look bad! LOL

Well..... I played the demo.

*Pretty easy game.
*If you don't find the "differences" as fast as they want (which is faster then I can continually click), they give you automatic hints which I find annoying.
*It's more of a "Find The Differences" game then a HO game.
* It doesn't have an area (that I could see) to show how many coins I've collected for the store.
* There's only a few mini games in the store which are also very easy.

My main complaints are that it's VERY easy and more of a FTD's game instead of a HO game.

I'm still deciding if I want to buy it yet. For those that bought it.... is the game pretty much the same all the way through as it was on the demo? Does the game change in any way?

I am into playing the game, yes I do agree that it is very easy. I got enough coins to buy the scrab matching game, which was good, but kind of creepy, with the bugs running around. So far this is not one that I would exchange. The interacting games are ok also. I agree also that it is more of a FTD than HO. But for me after working on the sim game that I am also working on it is a break.

Biggest complaint -- way too easy. If you really like Find the Difference games, this might be fun. Story looks ok. Graphics are good. I was hoping for more HO than is in this game. At least in the trial. Like Scotcat, I found the light flashes pointing out objects very irritating and coming too quickly. Takes the fun out of finding the object.
Not one I'll purchase.

Yes the hints coming so fast made me feel stupid, and I did purchase it. Agree totally on everyones review. But I must say again I enjoyed the game.

Hey Edna! It's Ok to like a game no one else does. I like to play word games when I need a break. The Great Wall, Bookworm & Word Whomp are my favorites. I guess I am now a word Dork. LOL

Can anyone tell me how to get past Level 8 with the flashlight? I put the bow/arrow on the right statue and the key in the sphynx and then nothing happens??

If you mouse over the statue on the left, it says "he seems to be aiming at the wall." Click the flashlight on his extended hand. It will remain and light a section of wall. See what happens next!

I have 2 game credits that are burning a hole in my pocket, and I was really hoping that I'd be using one of them on this game, but I'm completely stumped on this one! I have absolutely no clue what to use that Pharaoh's head for! I've noticed that I can grab it and move it, but I can't seem to find out what to do with it! Then I came across this wall with stone carvings and a different pharaoh head in the center, and I had to put a mirror, an orb and a couple staffs SOMEWHERE in that picture, but there's nothing in the carving that would indicate what I should put there. And that's when the trial version ran out. So if anyone can conk my brain back into functional mode and tell me what I'm missing, I may just give it another try.

Gina after you put head together, move it down to the big frame below it, it will open the next scene. I do not know of any other sites to download an additional 1hr of play time, but I am sure oreo3030 can help. I hope you enjoy the rest of the game, there are some cute other puzzles

Gina - I searched Curse of the Pharaoh: The Quest for Nefertiti and found a few sites to download the game, but they all seem to be connected to Big Fish, so I'm not sure they will let you play it again. I can download it again on my laptop at hubby's office.

LOL.....I know what you mean about the credits just sitting there burning a hole in my pocket. I have some games on my computer that I haven't finished yet, so I still have lots to play while I'm waiting for the next HE & MCF & Build-A-Lot games to come out.

I passed on this game as well as Haunted Hotel.

Does anyone know where else I could download another demo of it other than BFG?

Bought it last night and have finished most of it. Am finding that I like everything better than I thought I would except the Find the difference parts.

Edna is right. The head of Tut that you put together is the key to unlocking the final scene at each level. Just click on it and place it in the large outline on the screen, click and release.

In the scene with the mirror, place the mirror in your inventory on the right side in the hands of some statues. The other 3 items are a staff, a broken staff shaft and the head of the staff. They staves go in the holes to the right of the mirror. Then place the shaft head on the staff w/no head. Placing the items is kind of hit and miss. There does not always seem to be an easily findable hot spot.

Sorry BF but this game really sucks. I finished it in no time, no challenge.

I love this game too and play it over and over. It is mostly always a challenge. The only thing I have a problem with is at the end of rooms after collecting all the Pharaoh's pieces and using him to go in a room to solve a puzzle, if for some reason I have to go out (comp. freeze, company, etc.) it won't let me go back in to finish the puzzle and it won't let me go any further in the game. I have started from the beginning many times under another user name. Have you had this problem and did you figure out what to do about it? I have never been able to go all the way because of it. It does it at any level.
