The 5 part quests are the hardest mentally for me. When I see a 3 or a 10 part quests, I immediately think "I hope it's ..." or "I hope it's not ..." but with the 5 part quests, it's "Ugh, a 5 part quest." I can't even decide which one is the 'best' of a bad bunch.

Both games received 5 part quests after finishing Rare Editions. Since it was too early to bail, I completed Inspiration (hate sending an airship for a mere 5 part quest, but Trina also wanted wheels) and got Gnome Spy, so that game is done DQ'ing for the day. Other game is slogging away at Knowledge Hunter.

Energy ball drop is horrendous. It's going to be a long day. Glass half-full point of view - look at all the airship items I'll get while chasing energy balls.

You're not kidding. Having the same situation. Energy balls not dropping.
Getting lots of airship items trying for the energy balls so it does have a bright side.

Too funny. Game #2 finished Knowledge Hunter and got Special Interest, so I've got to keep going.

Yesterday and all last night were storms so I skipped DQ's and opted to go after energy orbs with the time I was able to play.

Too tired to play today since I was up half the night from storms. We were supposed to go out of town today but postponed that for tomorrow so decided to skip the DQ's again and go for energy orbs.

So happy to finally get my 20 in both games. My L28 game took 111 searches. My main L74 game took a whopping 268 searches. Total for both games 379 searches. Nap time

Will definitely be out of town tomorrow as it's supposed to be nice weather. But the rest of the week appears to be more stormy weather that may prevent working on DQ's.

Good Grief. What is the DEAL with the weather this year. Storm after storm, etc. It is really ruining my time to enjoy playing MC. . I want to work on DQ's but only if I have time to complete them.

Thanks for listening to my venting. Taking a deep breath now and perhaps a nap .

Just got my last energy ball. That's the second night in a row that I've cut it close.

Today appears to be Airship Hell Day.

Ship after ship asking for 300 wheels or more. Only ships asking for a somewhat tolerable amount of stuff want the 3 items I have the least of. Doesn't look like I'll make much progress today.

I'm glad to be back playing today after a busy weekend. Last night, after storming the Castle of Muskogee, OK Renaissance Festival I got home just in time to catch the GMT rollover. Got several DQ's done already.

Game 1:
Experiment / Helpful Device / Legendary Scroll / Competition /
Secret Delivery (not enough time left to complete before GMT so no 10 part quests going to be done today).

Game 2:
Studying Luck / Experiment / Birth of Goo / Helpful Device /
In the Service of the Record Keeper (not going to finish this 10 part quest either with only less than 3hrs left to GMT)

Not sure what time the next storm is supposed to roll through today so that may be all I get done. I have a migraine today too so I'll be doing the bare minimum. Just enough HOS searching to get the daily energy orb allotment and finish the current DQ's.

Edited to add: Helpful Device on game 2 and Competition on game 1.
Edited to add: Secret Delivery on game 1 and In the Service of the Record Keeper on game 2.

Which DQ's will you absolutely not do?

Which DQ's are the best ones to do?

Looking at A.e.gram's list:
Any with an airship drop, as I have no inventory I am prepared to use since my stocks are so low
Also the 2-part DQ: Knowledge Hunter is greedy for inventory
Otherwise they are all equal for me to do

SilverHawk...........my mom was from Muskogee!

GTMiner.........Wont do that 5 part "Helping Hand"......just because of TWO Column of the Fallen"..........too hard to get those crossed swords. And didn't used to do "Gnome Spy" or "Robbery of the Century.......never could finish them unless they came up right at GMT......but now I can do with the amulets.

Won't do, no matter what (exception being needing to do one on the last day of a castle challenge):

Three Days of the Castle Explorer (350 wheels - 2 airships - to complete a 3 part DQ? No way)

In the Service of the Record Keeper (one of my games still has trouble getting torches and rune stones to drop after playing this one so much back in January/February)

Helping Hand is almost in this category. I might do it if it was the first DQ of the day, or might just decide to take the day off.

Willing to do any time:

Rare Editions, Something New, What's Going On (easiest 10 part DQ's hands down, so no matter how many ships I've already sent for the day, I'll do these)

Strange Papers, Competition, Studying Luck, Experiment, O.G.R.E 13

All the rest, it varies depending on how many DQ's I've already completed for the day, how many hours left, situation with dice table, how many airships I've already sent, what Trina needs, etc

Best 5 part DQ's:

Birth of Goo and Legendary Scrolls

You're going to get different responses from players as a lot depends on what they have available to work with or time to complete them. One day may be different from the next.

I always keep the Daily Quests (old and new) / Rewards thread bookmarked in my internet favorites for quick reference and plan my HOS searches accordingly to maximize my time. I can always see what's coming up to I know when to play puzzles for items I'm short on and see how many airships will be needed.

Sometimes you may need to ignore DQ's that require a lot of airship items; Three Days of the Castle Explorer, Helping Hand, Lost Pages .

Sometimes it's time that can make the decision to not to play; Knowledge Hunter, Gnome Spy, In the Service of the Record Keeper, New Knowledge, Robbery of the Century, Secret Delivery.

The best ones are the quick ones that won't take half or even all of a day to do; What's Going On? (this one does have a lot of airship items), Something New, Rare Editions, Inspiration (another with lots of airship items), and most of the 3 part quests.

Again, it will depend on factors of what you have (such as enough airship items) and time. So the answer to your question will be different for everybody. This is my list currently and subject to change at anytime.

I think the answer also depends on your playing style.

I HATE just doing the rounds to stock up. So as much as I'm tempted some days to just throw everything I've got (inventory-wise) at the DQ's and spend a week or 2 or 3 restocking, it's better for my mental health if I'm a bit choosy about what I play so I'm not faced with a long period of restocking.

I'm definitely a tortoise and not a hare.

Yep, That too.

Right now I'm only playing just enough HOS to get the daily 20 energy orbs. There are some days I just cannot get them all for various reasons (health, weather, real life responsibilities, state of mind (i.e. just don't want to do anymore rounds).

Going to keep working on DQ's until the end of the year. Depending on how I feel by then and how many I'm able to finish I may reevaluate whether or not I continue to work on them in 2018. I'm not sure if I can stomach 3 to 5 years just to get an achievement. 1 or 2 years is fine, 3 to 5 is too long. Right now I'm lucky to get two or three 10 parters per week. That will take a long time to get 500 considering that during Events you can't work on the Gnome DQ's at all so it may actually be longer.

Hoping that the dev's do something that can give me incentive to keep playing by then. It can be readjusting airship requirements. Change the parts of DQ's that have you going to a HOS or ZZ to be 1 or 2 trips and not 3 (3 is just too much). Change the quick cool down amulet to be a no cool down amulet for 30 minutes for 50 energy orbs. Or all the above and maybe perhaps something I haven't thought of yet.

I see from the list that there are some easier DQ's but I keep getting the oldest long and/or harder older ones over and over. I got Rare Editions once and Experiment 3 times. I have yet to see any of the other newer / easier ones. Maybe a skip button so you can refresh to another more manageable DQ if the one at GMT or next in the line up is unacceptable would be nice.

IDK. Just venting I guess. But NOT GIVING UP yet.

The castle challenges help alleviate some of the tedium, and the seasonal events, while taking away time from working on the DQ's, are a relatively painless way of restocking.

I wish the platinum chest would only contain airship items. Seriously, there are enough other places to get coins, shards, diamonds, etc.
