Hello fishfinder246,

I am sorry that there's been trouble sending private messages. I recommend seeing if our suggested workarounds can help with private messages that don't seem to be sent when pressing submit:

Having trouble posting about levels? - September 27, 2016

Those workarounds may help with avoiding our forum's automated filter function. Other ways to avoid this may be to be aware of certain combinations of symbols and numbers, or phrases and punctuation, as these may be used often by spammer accounts and may be a part of our automated filters. Players have found success in writing out their email addresses as a phrase, rather than as a combination of alpha-numerics and punctuation. For instance, typing out the word dot in place of a period could help in some moments, as would typing out the word at rather than the symbol @ usually used to do that.

Furthermore, if a player has 100 private messages saved in their inbox, they may not be able to receive further private messages until a few of them are deleted from the inbox, the same is true for sent private messages.

Thank you for your time and I hope this was able to help out. If there are any further questions, please feel free to PM me or any of our other active Moderators. We are all happy to listen and help out as best we can.

Messages are coming through with no subject line even though the senders are filling that in. I have 5 like that today. I clear out my messages regularly so that is not the problem and we have had this happen before. It is particularly upsetting when some us are trying to make arrangements to stay I touch after the forum closes!

Hi Trav3lbird,

I'm sorry to hear about these troubles while sending PMs. Without knowing the content of the PMs, my best advice would be to have the senders make sure to hit the preview button before they try to send a PM. This will let them know in advance whether or not the content will go through. Since you mentioned exchanging information to help stay in touch, it is very possible that a symbol or combination of numbers and symbols is catch the attention of the spam filter.

Should the previewed version of a PM show up as blank for one of the senders, I'd recommend they go over the PM and remove any symbols and replace them with words (dot for . or dash for - , as some examples), and then preview the PM again.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to PM one of our active Moderators if there are additional issues or concerns. We'll be happy to do whatever we can to assist.

I think it is hit and miss with the pm's, I imagine there is a huge volume bogging down the system right now with everyone saying their goodbye's. I was having trouble for a couple days but it seems to be working for me right now.

I have a question if anybody knows the answer about if these different group chat sites have privacy policies that people must agree to get a account there? I heard that any website from any country that can be accessed in Europe must become compliant with their new privacy laws that take effect in May, that is a interesting development

Another senior checking in :-)

Europe has rules even now that are much more strict. Google for instance has been in court for years over there.

You just have to read every privacy notification t the sites.

I'm at Pond Friends http://pondfriends.boards.net/thread/5350/information-welcome-new-returning-members?page=1&scrollTo=358886

mcquigan at both.

Sounds to me like it is going to get much stricter come May 25th, maybe it will finally motivate our US politicians to do something about the data mining. I hope so anyway.

Or maybe I should have asked what kind of HR training do the volunteer moderators go through, or what kind of background checks are done on the volunteers who will be handling personal data of group members?

Hi there,

If you go to Pond friends you can continue to read Penmom, Bisci, Sunny's and other members reviews (submit your own)!

The pond is made up of BFG forum members. There are "New and Upcoming Games" Sneak Peeks - games which should be coming out this week and perhaps next week as well.

There are game discussion areas

There is the chit chat room if you would like to socialize.

And, we even have an adventure games area. Always wanted to play that Sherlock game you got stuck on? Come play it in a group!

We have all been where you are right now and are hoping to assist in keeping your community together.

This is the link to a welcome letter from Biscuitmama and Pennmom

http://pondfriends.boards.net/thread/5350/information-welcome-new-returning-members?page=1&scrollTo=359242

Some of the members are organizing a Welcome party for the many of you that have joined. If you remember Haggis, this pays homage to her.

Marathon is timed nicely for those who had already built all monuments before Kyoto.

Are there mods there? When you join do they give you the rules for the code of conduct? I've seen some negative remarks from people about how they have been treated on some of those sites and I don't want to participate in something that allows ugliness, I get the impression that rules are much more lax than what BF has.

I am really on the fence about joining one of the groups, on one hand I would really like to still have communication with fellow gamers but on the other hand I am so disgruntled about BF ending the forums and I feel like we would be giving free advertising for BF games on a outside forum, and they are no longer willing to support a forum for their games financially, I kind of feel like this decision should come back to hit BF hard in the wallet. Maybe I am just weird but I always thought that loyalty should go both ways.

No sign of Kyoto here yet... once again we are days behind everyone else so no marathon either and I must fill in time trying to complete earlier cities. I finally managed all the level 2 in Santa Fe and gosh some of those side paths are difficult! I just have level 3 side paths to finish off Paris but that will, have to wait for another Everest and those free lives!

Awe Shucks! I cannot believe it's coming to an end! After yrs and yrs of telling BFG how to run its game we come to an end like this.....I am awestruck to say the least....I know this past year I've not been as active as I once was but from time to time I'd peek in and always intended to come back as soon as my health got lined out....geez! I was just wondering if T Bird, Snow, Eli and the grey gummy gang was "moving" also? I've been with GD and BFG since this first came out! Many yrs! At first Midnight Castle was my fav but GD soon took that cherished spot! I understand all the logistics but yet don't understand either and I guess it's forcing us to FB or else....? Anyway for all the help you've gave me knowingly, freely giving me your time, and unknowingly I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I found friendship and a time zapper which filled a necessary void in my life.....I needed you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! And to BFG....no words when I was admonished for using sfzt!&@/ symbols instead of cursing, it was more than I could bear! Stupid! Time could've been spent elsewhere for a better purpose than that!
Xoxo Gummy Grey Gang, may you all be blessed with peace! Xoxo Nena

A free run by fans forum won’t have professional moderators. Every forum admin and forum mod has to be a volunteer, and most people won’t want to spend their free time on such duties. If that kind of thing bothers you, then you won’t want to join one of those forums.

Ad revenue on such forums goes toward the cost of the servers, bandwidth, and a part time sysadmin.
