Glitter. I will add a Happy Anniversary to you too. Glad you are a part of this thread. Just had GD get back to me with help on an issue with the server pinching my progress. I am working back over old cities when I have the unlimited lives, and had been doing Tahiti this time. I had got to almost 100% completion and used many hours, plus normal lives as well, and had ONLY 3 tier 3 levels to complete, which were 3 particularly tricky ones, so was going to get them done with the last marathon. Then a wifi connection stuffed that all up and wiped it all, took my progress right back for some time, coins too etc. I contacted them, and they have fixed some of it, but still waiting on the side path levels being reverted if they can. I was absolutely furious. Once thats done, I am determined to complete that awful city, LA to 100%. That is my next goal. I am well on the way now. I might even think about the same in Seoul just to prove it can be done. But having the unlimited lives really REALLY helps get it done. The earlier cities are not so costly in coins to complete if you have already purchased the HHs all that time ago, but the cities I havent bothered buying them, which is a huge proportion of them, would be cost prohibitive to do them all. Anyway, will see how it goes with Tahiti and LA for now.

Thanks everyone for the congrats on one year. I am glad I stuck with the game. I have been very frugal with spending my coins and have amassed a large amount 92,000 because I only use them when absolutely necessary. Some may think that is way more than needed at any given time but I have a meaning to my madness. LOL I play a lot of the helping hands in the cities because I like the animation but have not bought them all. I figure when I advance further in the game I will also go back and try to complete the cities 100% wherever possible. I can buy the helping hands a few at a time like I did to complete Tokyo and San Francisco 100%. If I have enough coins and can win Everest Challenges to gain the 2 hours unlimited lives and use those lives for really difficult levels and completing missions for rewards I will have a good chance at finishing a city 100%. Besides I love the challenge of winning a level without boosts and have a lot of patience most of the time to play the level multiple times to win without spending coins for lives as well. Above all I like to finish what I start so I know eventually I will try to complete cities 100% for the personal satisfaction.

Best regards and Happy Gaming

As far as buying the HH when I played through Amsterdam I did not need to buy five of them and that is with out shipping any resources, however I did not play the side paths up to those five HH so I don't know how much I saved in coins. I am in Hawaii now and it looks like it may go the same way, so far I have not purchased any HH but I am playing up to them because when I get to the end I want to see how many coins I've saved and how many HH are left not purchased. The reduction in resources needed may provide a reduction in coins needed so people might be able to adjust their strategies a bit.

Yes, after Amsterdam it is hardly ever necessary to buy hh an another strategy is called for. Like Glitter (belated congrats ) I saved coins to finish cities 100%. Now almost st the end of Milan, I am working on 100% for London. But I must admit not buying hh does take some fun out of the game because you miss out on decorations and/or animations in the later. I don't exactly know when gd started this, I first noticed it in Lima.

I have done shipping in the past in but if the goal of the game or a personal goal is to complete to 100% then the HH will have to be bought eventually and I would think playing every level to tier 3 will provide enough coins to buy all of the HH plus complete to 100%, but out of those coins earned who knows how much of a leeway there is for buying boosts or extra lives with out spending real money. My leftover resources don't go to waste, I sell them or use them for drilling.

Thanks to all on the tips on the use of the kites. I have never used any, and received a lot during the recent sale of boosts. I checked and to my surprise I have 101 kites. I guess I should use some. I really like the earthquake because you can finish any board with 4 or less moves left to finish.
And, after Amsterdam the coins can easily stack up and exceed any reasonable or necessary stockpile.

Speaking of kites, I finally got a lightning and kite match up. It was a blue kite, and all the blue gummies turned into blue kites, and each new kite sent put three flying kites to destroy all the other squares. So, one blue kite matched with one lightning bolt produced 15 blue kites (there were 15 blue gummies) and each of the blue kites produced 3 flying destroying kites, for a total of 45 blue destroying kites!

The way I use my kites is in tandum with the bolts and the combos. If I have a particularly bad board/level, I will employ all three. Then there are bolts and kites and crushes and bombs near each other that I can use to my advantage. Blow the gazomba out of that board.

Hey famvir3,

Wowza, I have never used kites but am going to definitely put them in my arsenal for those lousy levels where you think "Please Gummy Gods just get me through this one" When it seems like all the skill and strategy and not even luck is going to do it now I will "blow the gazomba out of that board" with your method. LOL

Best regards
Glitter

I've just noticed that the progress bar which used to appear underneath the name of each city in the list has disappeared. I used to find this very helpful when selecting the next city to complete 100%.
Like everyone else here (I guess), I love playing this game but I so wish they would stop messing around with it! Do you remember when we used to have a counter showing the amount of resources that had been earned so far on each board? I found that useful too, but it's long gone.
It reminds me of the debacle last summer when every city you went into opened at the shipping port, and at maximum magnification. At least they changed that back again, but I wonder why they persist in fixing things that aren't broken! It looks to me like someone is just making work for themselves to look busy. Certainly there's no way these changes could be called improvements.

One other query: what exactly is a Gazomba? Lol! Hope it's not like a Gazunda!

I totally agree with you CliveJ, they certainly had NO need to alter those two things you mentioned, I had missed noticing that bar that showed progress, it was helpful. I have been using the passport totals to work out which city is next on my hit list to get to 100% according to how far I have got in there. Hence, LA is the current one. And I used to love the totals showing of how many resources were stacking up in the level. It was actually helpful, but they do seem to concentrate on altering things that have no need of altering, stuffing up things that don't need stuffing up, and not fixing things that are broken, constantly complained about and really need looking at. The post I made a few days or so ago about them updating the tips and tricks page is a perfect example of things they SHOULD be attending to as lots of new players would read that and think by the look of it, they were playing a different game, its so outdated.

And the Gazomba, I think must be a saying in the country that famvir lives in (I think it was him who said it originally?), I would think there would be an equivalent saying everywhere. Here, I would say I would 'blast the smithereens out of it' or there is an alternative to that, but it might be a bit too sensitive a religious word to put on here and I do not want to offend anyone, but I think you all get the idea! I think a Gazunda refers to the old fashioned 'dunny' can? From the days before flush toilets and a pot was underneath that had to be taken away. Thats a Gazunda, or 'goes under' here in Australia.

All-done has posted on thread "Helping hands in Milan" that 2 of these let you buy resources with green gems. I was amazed and delighted to find that at
58.3 for just 4 gems you can get 170,000 bricks and 170,000 hats.
At 116.3 for only 5 gems you can get 200,000 bricks and 200,000 pinks.
Excellent returns and many thanks to All-done for sharing this great find.

I didn't take specific notice of which HH levels they were that gave rewards for just green gems, but I went through all of Beijing too, and found a few there, but can't remember if it was also for some resources, but I did find about 6 or more, that cost zero coins, but offered swaps for various resources including some with gems as well. like, one you used say, bricks and 2 gems, and got a pile more of pinks and blues, then another would be use some of the blues and a gem or two and get a pile of bricks and pinks. Might seem a bit stupid but in the end, I had bigger amounts of all 3 resources in the stash and spent NO coins and only swapped resources for more and used up some useless gems. Haven't got too far in Milan as been busy with other things, but will check them all out when I get round them all for the same thing. Might even go back to Miami and see if it was the same there as I haven't needed to buy any HH for a very long time so I normally don't bother to even look at them.

With shipping, I always take the resources swap when offered. You end up with a great deal more resources and can always ship in more of the one you spend on the trade. Likewise with the use of green gems, it is easy to earn the gems in game play by earning gobs of resources in certain levels, ie. Istanbul 105-1, then drilling. I like this new feature. I agree the resource counter should be brought back for level play.

I have PMed a moderator asking that the progress bar on the list of cities be restored, as well as the resources earned counter on each board.

It might be helpful if it was known that I am not the only one who regrets that these facilities were removed, and if any of you feel inclined to send your own messages to a moderator, I would have no objection!

Thanks

Are you talking about the progress bars that are inside the passport book under the city name that show how many levels completed as intern, architect, master builder and 100%? If so then I have that on the pc version. Also there is a green tab on the right of the screen that opens out when clicked on that lists everything that still needs to be done to complete to 100% in whatever city that I'm in.

CliveJ isn't talking about the progress thats shown in the passport pages, we all have that. Its the progress bar on the city tab on the right of the screen on the world map page. Interesting that PC still has it, but us mobile players have lost it. Once you actually open a city, there is nowhere on there that shows progress, only on the world map page, but it was most helpful. Wish it would come back and I see no reason whatsoever why it was taken away.
