Toronto 45-1 is probably the worst timed level I have seen!! I eventually had to use an eternal freeze boost and even then it took 6 minutes to complete so be warned. At the end of that path is a plane drop with 150k bricks and 3 gems so decide if you need them or carry on without!

Hello Everyone,

Thank you so much for bringing the spam in this thread to our attention and for your patience while the Moderation Team worked to remove it. Before swimming off I'd like to ask everybody to keep the Forum Rules in mind, especially:

The Moderation Team definitely understands how disruptive spam can be, but discussing those posts can lengthen the spam removal process. We truly appreciate when you reach out to us about spam, and I apologize that this spam wasn't handled more promptly.

Thank you for your help with this matter as well as your time. Please don't hesitate to PM me or another moderator, either, should more questions or concerns arise. We'll be here waiting to help.

Trav, you are sure right about Toronto 45-1. I am in the 100's of Toronto. I have completed all the side paths too, except for 45-1 and following. I gave up and will go back later. I will most likely have to get an eternal freeze too. Thanks for the info on the heli drop. You can buy just as many bricks with a straight resource trade
for the price of a freeze, tho. And no one at the Toronto level should have any need of additional gems.

I haven't gotten to the snowball fight yet. Looking forward to it!

Blizzard Everest is back. I was thinking goodness this is easier than the last non blizzard one! Then I hit level 5..... horrible and timed besides. Not going to try again. Bleah....

I guess it's different for everyone. I did blizzard Everest straight through first time using just one shovel on level five.
I got three boosts, 100 coins, and four hours of infinite lives. Very useful to me as I've just done 10 levels in Toronto and still have three hours left, so taking a break.
Might be useful to the people having difficulty with Toronto 45–1.

Is anyone interested in a detailed comparison of Everest levels, to check whether we each get the same levels or not?

About Toronto 45 - 1: cheaper than eternal freeze is to take at least two of the starter boosts into the board, one being lightning. Piece of cake even when the placement prevents swapping a lightning with another boost.

Here we go again with spam. Reported it.

As luck would happen, I went back to Toronto 45-1 and won easily with 40 seconds to spare. Matched a lightening bolt to a shooting yellow gummy and that wiped out both sides of the Board. After that, the rest was easy. Lucky me.

Just wondering why the developers changed the resource requirements so drastically from millions in Athens to only thousands in Amsterdam? My query, since it seems most of you are way ahead of me — is the play that much easier too?

Yes, it becomes a much simpler game, especially if you ship resources, which is feasible because, as you note, the resource requirements to build monuments decreases by about 80%.

The equation is that by shipping, you no longer need to buy helping hands. Since you don't buy helping hands, the coins can accrue to higher levels. With more coins you can easily afford boosts to win levels and win more coins. It begins to self-perpetuate and the cities become fairly easy to finish. Shipping every four hours can get boring tho. I ship from cities, 10 cities, where it is easy to accumulate the resources to ship. Thus I can get 150,000 resources every four hours for free. Some players don't ship and some ship from many more cities than I do.

To give an example I started Amsterdam with under 4000 coins and no saved green gems. I am about to complete Toronto with 99,000 coins and hundreds of green gems. I am not a great gamer, but I follow my strategy.

It sounds to me like you are doing brilliantly with your strategy Snowman. Well done. We all have different ways of doing it as Snowman said, and they all seem to be good. I am one who ships from every city which takes time but pays off as its huge amounts of resources, but having all the cities to send from, I really don't have to do it much at all. In the first few days of a city being open, I might ship twice a day, but really, once is plenty and once I have got to the last monument, I leave it unbuilt until the next city opens, and ship in anything else needed to fill it up after having used resources to build all the monuments up to that point, work out whats required for the last one and ship in enough resources to put at least a few million of each into the city, then move on with yet another full city. . It also saves me having to build marts. But I have plenty of coins and could do so if I chose to, there is just no reason to unless I run out of resources which is highly unlikely to happen in any city on my game. I built four of the marts in Sydney and use them almost exclusively to buy the daily coin deals, if not quite enough (usually pinks) I just use them from a city that has loads of pinks. This system works for me, and its simply how I have done it from the start not knowing any different anyway. As for being easier play, yes, on the whole it is, but there are still always very difficult levels in every city, just not so many of them in the cities past Havana I reckon, but gradually the numbers of them does ease off as you get further into it.

It's been well over 24 hours since the post above by lordkalvan to let us know the Blizzard Everest event was back. I am still waiting for it to turn up on my ipad. Whats going on this time GD?

OMG, update: I had no sooner spoken than it happened. I actually had the game open when I posted above, I opened Toronto to play a level, it crashed, opened GD again, and guess what? Blizzard Everest popped up. Thank you, but I have just over 1 day left of it so its been missing in action on my ipad anyway. Will still use it. Very grateful for the extra time everytime its available.

Jules: I use the exact same strategy as you in regards to Sydney and the selling of resources. I also send friends the five extra lives daily from Sydney 1 while i am there. Funny how we worked out the same process thru trial and error.

I must try and get into the habit of shipping resources on a regular basis. I only have the port active in a dozen or so cities, but even that would shift a good amount each time, as most of those ports can transport either 10k or 15k at a time. It would reduce or eliminate paying to speed up shipping when I'm playing. The cost isn't great but it would still be better to hang on to the coins.
