Hey Jules,

I may be the only one on this thread who did not think you were a man even from our first PM correspondence. I didn't get that vibe at all from the initial help you offered me when I first started playing GD. I never got that vibe from any of your posts on the forum either. Guess I am pretty intuitive. Although Jules does seem as though it is a man's name in this day and age man/woman names can be interchangeable. Have a niece named Taylor, two friends both named Kim one a female and one a male and I also know a man named Laverne and a woman named Charles (Charlie for short) but her actual given name is Charles. There are probably many more examples of people I personally know but no more that immediately come to mind right now. Just goes to show you I guess.

I have unfortunately discovered an annoying bug in Vladivostok. Twice today I won on the last move, only to get the screen that I had lost and can use extra moves. Both times the win was accomplished by getting the right amount of bricks on the final move. But the game was very anxious to tell me I had lost. I have not noticed this in any other city. Anyone else?

Hey glitter, no you weren't the only one to figure out jules gender, I caught on to that back when I first started commenting here, I also had the impression that she had teaching experience by the way she writes her comments. I've noticed back when this thread started some of you introduced yourselves with your first name. I'm Mike and I am very pleased to have gotten to know you wonderful folks.

I am mystified by how everyone is commenting so much on my gender! I think its really funny guys (guys meaning EVERYONE, not just males) but I did mention this quite some time ago back further in this thread when someone commented that I was the King of something or other, and I did reply to that, so I guess I just figured you all knew and it wasn't something that was hidden.

And Glitter, I too know a number of people who have names that you would normally associate with the opposite gender, like a male cousin called Kerry. Nicknames also confuse the matter too.

And Grampa, you are very right, yes, I have a lot of teaching experience, but not in schools and not the 'traditional' teaching people think of when teaching is mentioned, but arty stuff and painting. Very smart of you to work that out.

And Snowman, that happened to me a couple of times, not in Vladivostok though, can't remember where it was, but it wasn't that long ago. I thought I had been seeing things, but maybe there really is a glitch now you mention it.

Hi all, just wanted to jump on here again before I go nighty-night, I spent this evening reading back through this thread and all the fun conversations that got going, one in particular caught my attention (on June 21,2016 Trav3lbird wrote about a "spoiler" thread listing the resources needed for each monument) and look who finally got that thread going! See Trav, good things do come to those who wait! Night everyone.

Jules,

I remember it was Snow and he called you the king of coins and you replied "not a king but maybe a queen". It is funny how we interpret a persons gender by the forum name they choose. I guess it is pretty obvious I am female as I don't know of any male who would want to have Glitter as a name. LOL

I've also experienced the problem of completing a level but being told I'd failed. It wasn't Vladivostok because I haven't got that far yet. I can't remember which city or level it was, but it has only happened once.

It's always risky making assumptions about gender based on userids. On another site I use KT53 and many had assumed it was for 'Katey' whereas it's actually just my intials. Some only realised when I mentioned my wife in one thread. Even that's not proof any more.
In my last employment one of the women I worked with always called me KT, she was the only person to use that since I left school. It caused no end of confusion if she couldn't answer a problem and told people to 'Ask KT', as they would naturally wander round looking for a woman.

Yes, Glitter, you are right, I don't think a bloke would call himself that. And now you mention the king of coins, yes, that was what it was. I remember now. And up till then, I had not even thought about it and that anyone would assume I was not male. I just didn't think of it. Keith, you are right too, I would have assumed that someone with the name KT would have been a shortening of Katey or Katie.

Good morning folks, ( for me anyways) glitter, I can think of one gentleman who wouldn't have had a problem with that, since he kind of started the glitter rock movement back in the 1970's. I'm of course referring to the late Mr. David Bowie. Keith, that 53 have anything to do with your birth year? I'm '52. Well folks, it's time for breakfast so I'll check back later.

Hello snowmanvt,

I wanted to swim by and let you know that I'm sorry the game isn't recognizing your wins in Vladivostok. That's definitely bothersome. I'm here to provide some advice.

If all of the objectives have been completed but the game won't recognize the win, please contact our Gummy Drop! Support Team with your User ID and screenshots of the message that appears. This will help the Support Team investigate what's going on.

Just in case, I've included help pages about how to take and send screenshots on a mobile device:

How do I take a screenshot? (Android)
How do I take a screenshot? (iOS)
How do I attach a file to my email?

I'd also recommend posting future technical inquiries to the designated thread below:

Please post any TECH ISSUES for Gummy Drop! Mobile here!

This ensures the Moderation Team will see and reply to a technical issue as quickly as possible and helps keep the forum organized. Thanks for your help with this. If any further questions come up, please feel free to PM me or another active Moderator. We're happy to help.

Do you have the resource requirements for Seoul?
Just starting there and I'd like to know if you have it.
Thank you!

No it's our house number. Birth year is 51. On the 'Jules' subject there is at least one TV presenter in the UK who is 'Jules' and on a programme I'm currently watching one of the blokes is also called Jules and there is no way he'd be mistaken for a girlie. Unless the girls you know have tattoos and a full beard

YAHOO!!!!! I have completed New Orleans and am travelling on to Barcelona. This has been by far the hardest city to get through. To accomplish the 10 level missions and reap the rewards you have to complete architect and /or master builder levels for most of them. Most monuments were 1,.000.000 to 2,650.000 for each resource and any where from 5 to 33 green gems. There were 25 timed levels in this city. Most of the levels were rather tricky and took a few tries to get close to winning them. I did not keep track but I can't remember too many where I beat it in 1 try. I bought and used a lot of shovels and extra moves. I also bought a few Helping Hands (not many though) as I I did a lot of shipping after replaying many levels in all cities to acquire enough resources to ship. I entered New Orleans with approximately 60,000 coins and leaving with 63,000 as I refused to spend very much and built most of the monuments by shipping resources. I did win 500 on the slot machine again (4th time for me) and completed the missions that rewarded you with 1,000 coins each (2 of them in this city) so even with buying a considerable amount of shovels and extra moves I left this city in not too bad a shape. It took me approximately 1 month to to complete this nasty city. So happy to be moving on!!!

No, I don't have those so if you can keep a record and add your post of the requirements to that thread that would be great thanks Fish.
Snow - I struck that same problem twice yesterday in Lima with the winning move not being recognised, not sure what level it was but maybe another problem with this horrendous last update!

I know of one UK show that has a presenter called Jules, its that escape to the country. We get that on tv here in Australia. And one of the most iconic Beatles songs, Hey Jude, after Julian Lennon, also a Julian for which Jules is usually a shortening of. And Jules Verne, another famous Jules.

glitter2goldfish : congratulations ?? ? ? New Orleans is a really difficult city and I was so glad to be "shut of it". Barcelona and other future cities are much more fun.

marie-- my sister went to school in Aix and loans me lots of books which contain French expressions - so I put a "bookmark" on my computer's home screen that takes me directly to a French to English translation web site - it is always easy to access and I leave it open while I read to look up the French words that I am stumbling on.

I have always had trouble with foreign languages and envy that you are bilingual.
